We are a nation of animal & in particular cat lovers.
The Great British public cannot resist having a furry companion to cuddle up to, talk to & share our days with.
Rightly so, in my opinion the trend has reversed slightly and Cats are over-taking Dogs in the popularity stakes.
May be that’s because our feline friends are more independent than our canine friends.
With the busier & busier lives that we lead & longer hours that we work- maybe people are opting for a pet that doesn’t require taking out for walks etc.
But being biased maybe it’s just because cat’s rule- they’re the greatest!!

Surely, everyone knows someone who is a cat owner.
If they’re a cat owner then they can’t help but be a cat lover too.

So, that agreed. All your problems are about to be sorted when buying them gifts.

I’ve had many cat gifts bought for me over the years but friends & family still ask me for new gift ideas.
As much as I like the unusual & different- I don’t think that you can beat old favourites & standards that promise to please every time. In fact if I did’nt get at least some of these every year, I’d practically have withdrawl symptoms!

So in my 44 years of experience- here are my personal Top ten gift ideas for cat lovers- guaranteed to please.

CAT ORNAMENTS –Metal ones are the latest fashion. Maybe the person’s a collector of a certain design/make. (There are loads out there- maybe a good idea to ask for specifics) You can also get wooden, crystal, china- Royal Doulton & Beswick are always favourites and investments at the same time. Look in card shops and department stores as they always tend to carry a few ranges to choose from.

CAT STATIONERY- This can be in the form of notelets, writing sets, diaries, address books, xmas card list books, recipe books, birthday books, photo albums and note books to name a few. Once again, independent & high street card shops & department stores are the best places to find these.

CAT PHOTO FRAMES- Obviously if the person you’re buying for has a favourite feline- then the odds are they’d like a constant reminder of them. There are many different frames out there all customised with paw prints, pussy cat faces , whiskers etc just ready for a fav. feline pic.

CAT CALENDARS-A must for a Christmas present- we all have so much that we need to organise our time around. Buy a family organiser calendar or a slimline one to jot down all those important dates. You can get calendars for specific breeds- or the black cat’s always a favourite- & no-one can resist one full of kitten photos.

CAT FRIDGE MAGNETS- Yet another way to always have a friendly feline face staring out at you. The pet charity shops stock this sort of merchandise & of course you’re giving to a good cause at the same time.

CAT SOFT TOYS- Who can resist? There are a million and 1 out there in the shops to choose from and are always gratefully received. After all, they never need worming or de-fleaing.

CAT BOOKS- Whether these are funny caption books or informative they are always interesting and like to be owned so that the cat lover can refer to their own personal library. Books about cat behaviour are a favourite of mine as every cat I’ve had seems different & I love to understand them.

CAT BOOK MARKS- What better to go with all those books. There’s a wide variety out there- from magnetic, personalised to jewel encrusted for a more expensive present.

CAT LINEN-A lovely cat themed set for the kitchen always pleases & even if over the years the sets get mixed at least they’re all catty- so you can’t go wrong. Choose from, Aprons, T-towels, Oven gloves, Pot holders, Tea cosys, Tray clothes& even curtains & blinds.

CAT HANDBAGS- Invariably your cat lover is likely to be female & as we all know we can never own enough handbags. Choose from tote bags, cat-shaped rucksacks , pet charity bags through to those lovely black & white picture bags with bejewelled collared kittens beaming out at you .

All in all plenty of gift ideas for cat lovers for you to choose from.
